Duration of Anapana Courses
Anapana is taught to children of age group 8 to 18 years.
Anapana is taught to children (age group 8 to 18 years) –
- In 70-minutes
- In a 1-day course (typically this comprises about 4-5 hours)
- In a 2-day or a 3-day residential course
This can be taught in a Vipassana Centre or even in a school, college or educational institution.
In 2012, the Maharashtra Government, in association with the Vipassana Research Institute (VRI), initiated MITRA Upakram, a 70-minutes programme to facilitate the training of Anapana to children in schools. MITRA Upakram, which aims to inculcate Right Awareness, aspires to reach 2.5 crore school children and 1 Lac school teachers. Presently, more than 17,500 schools and 43 Lakh students in Maharashtra have been taught Anapana; more than 11,300 school teachers have attended a 10-day Vipassana course and are sharing Anapana with their wards in schools.
